Sinopsis

Israel tras el 7 de octubre. Y., un músico de jazz precario, y su esposa Jasmine, una bailarina, entregan su arte, su alma y su cuerpo al mejor postor, ofreciendo placer y consuelo a un país que sangra. Pronto, Y. recibe una misión de máxima importancia: componer la música para un nuevo himno nacional. 

Inglés Israel in the aftermath of October 7. Y., a precarious jazz musician, and his wife Jasmine, a dancer, give their art, soul and body to the highest bidder, bringing pleasure and consolation to their bleeding country. Soon, Y. is entrusted with a mission of the utmost importance: to write the music for a new national anthem.

Nacido en 1975 en Tel Aviv, Nadav Lapid dirigió tres cortometrajes, publicó una novela y trabajó como crítico literario y periodista deportivo antes de unirse a la Cinéfondation del Festival de Cannes en 2007, donde escribió el guion de su primer largometraje, Policeman. Desde entonces, ha sido premiado en los festivales más prestigiosos: obtuvo el Premio del Jurado en Locarno en 2011 por Policeman, fue seleccionado en la Semana de la Crítica de Cannes con The Kindergarten Teacher, ganó el Oso de Oro en la Berlinale en 2019 por Synonyms, y el Premio del Jurado en el Festival de Cannes en 2021 por Ahed’s Knee. Yes es su quinto largometraje. 

 

Born 1975 in Tel Aviv, Nadav Lapid directed three short films, published a novel and worked as a literary critic and sports journalist, before joining the Cannes Film Festival’s Cinéfondation in 2007, where he wrote the screenplay of his first feature film, Policeman. Since, he has been awarded in the most prestigious festivals with the Jury Prize at Locarno in 2011 for Policeman, a selection at Cannes Critics’ Week for The Kindergarten Teacher, the Golden Bear of the Berlinale in 2019 for Synonyms and the Jury Prize of the Cannes Film Festival in 2021 for Ahed’s Knee. Yes is his fifth feature film.
