Luis, un asháninka nacido en comunidades no contactadas, busca a tres de sus hijos que se fueron hace años a las ciudades y nada se sabe de ellos. Este viaje mágico, a través de distintos estados perceptivos, le sirve para transmitir a su hijo menor lo más oculto de su cosmovisión. 

Luis, an Asháninka born in uncontacted communities, is searching for three of his children who left for the cities years ago and haven’t been heard from since. This magical journey, through different perceptual states, serves as a means for him to pass on the most hidden aspects of his worldview to his youngest son.

Hermes Paralluelo nace en Barcelona, España, el 29 de mayo de 1981. En el 2011 termina su primer largometraje, Yatasto, una producción íntegramente argentina que se estrenó comercialmente en salas de ese país. Yatasto participó en más de 30 festivales internacionales como Busan, Londres, RIDM Montreal, Cartagena de Indias, Hamburgo etc. Obteniendo premios en BAFICI (mejor película argentina y premio Unicef), Málaga (mejor documental), Fidmarseille (mención especial), Viennale (premio FIPRESCI), FICUNAM (mejor película), Anuu-ru aboro, Nueva Caledonia (premio especial del jurado), etc. Su segundo largometraje, “No todo es vigilia (2014), es una coproducción entre España y Colombia y obtuvo financiación del FDC (Colombia), ICAA (España), ICIC (Catalunya) Televisión Española y Televisión de Aragón. Se ha estrenado comercialmente en España, Argentina, Uruguay y México. No todo es vigilia también ha participado en más de 30 festivales internacionales obteniendo varios premios. Tuvo su premier en el Festival de San Sebastián y después fue seleccionado en festivales internacionales como Mar del Plata (premio SIGNIS) Karlovy Vary, Palm Springs (Premio especial del jurado), Guadalajara, FICUNAM, Bratislava (Mejor documental), Uruguay (Mejor película iberoamericana + premio de la crítica) Perugia (mejor película) Cosquín-Argentina (mejor película) Taipei, Cartagena de Indias, Río de Janeiro, Munich, entre otros. También fue nominada a dos categorías de los premios FENIX de cine iberoamericano. Con su tercer largometraje, Las muertes de Chantyorinti, ha obtenido el premio International Deluxe en el Festival Internacional de Cine de Tarragona (REC 2024), y ha sido seleccionado en el Festival de Cine Europeo de Sevilla y el Festival de Cine Independiente de Barcelona (L’Alternativa 2024). 

 

Hermes Paralluelo was born in Barcelona, Spain, on May 29, 1981. In 2011, he completed his first feature film, Yatasto, an entirely Argentine production that premiered commercially in theaters across that country. Yatasto was selected for over 30 international film festivals, including Busan, London, RIDM Montreal, Cartagena de Indias, Hamburg, and more. It received several awards, such as Best Argentine Film and the UNICEF Award at BAFICI, Best Documentary at the Málaga Film Festival, a Special Mention at FIDMarseille, the FIPRESCI Prize at the Viennale, Best Film at FICUNAM, and the Special Jury Prize at Anuu-ru aboro in New Caledonia, among others. His second feature film, No todo es vigilia (2014), is a co-production between Spain and Colombia, financed by FDC (Colombia), ICAA (Spain), ICIC (Catalonia), Spanish Television, and Aragón Television. It was released commercially in Spain, Argentina, Uruguay, and Mexico. No todo es vigilia was also selected for over 30 international festivals and received numerous awards. It premiered at the San Sebastián Film Festival and was later screened at international festivals such as Mar del Plata (SIGNIS Award), Karlovy Vary, Palm Springs (Special Jury Award), Guadalajara, FICUNAM, Bratislava (Best Documentary), Uruguay (Best Ibero-American Film + Critics Award), Perugia (Best Film), Cosquín-Argentina (Best Film), Taipei, Cartagena de Indias, Rio de Janeiro, Munich, among others. It was also nominated in two categories at the Fénix Awards for Ibero-American cinema.
