La película «El motor y la melodía» narra la historia de una hormiga taladora de árboles que vive en la Amazonía y que conoce a una cigarra cuya música tiene el poder de hacer crecer la naturaleza. Su amistad se ve amenazada cuando un incendio forestal consume la selva.
The film «The Engine and the Melody» tells the story of a leafcutter ant living in the Amazon who meets a cicada whose music has the power to make nature grow. Their friendship is put at risk when a forest fire begins to consume the jungle.

JUAN LIMO GIRIBALDI
Estudió Comunicación Audiovisual y Multimedia, además de cursar la carrera de Pintura en la Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes del Perú. Con más de diez años trabajando en el sector de la animación, ha trabajado en varios proyectos comerciales para instituciones públicas y privadas, así como impartido clases de animación en varias instituciones educativas peruanas. Su primer cortometraje, Kanito, la Primera Batalla, ha cosechado varios reconocimientos en la incipiente industria de la animación peruana. Su segundo cortometraje animado El motor y la melodía, es considerado el cortometraje de animación peruano más premiado nacional e internacionalmente hasta la fecha. Actualmente se encuentra en el desarrollo de su primer largometraje: El Mundo de Mym.
He studied Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication, as well as Painting at the National School of Fine Arts of Peru. With over ten years of experience in the animation industry, he has worked on various commercial projects for both public and private institutions, and has also taught animation at several Peruvian educational institutions. His first short film, Kanito, the First Battle, received multiple awards within Peru’s emerging animation industry. His second animated short, The Engine and the Melody, is considered the most nationally and internationally awarded Peruvian animated short film to date. He is currently developing his first animated feature film: The World of Mym.
MANUEL-ANTONIO MONTEAGUDO GAUVRIT
Cineasta dedicado a la ficción y el documental. Ha dirigido proyectos que han sido premiados por la Comisión Europea y por el Ministerio de Cultura del Perú. Después de haber estudiado en Perú, Francia, Brasil y Hong Kong, vive entre Francia y Perú dirigiendo proyectos de animación y documentales. Sus proyectos más recientes son El Motor y La Melodía (Corto 2D, 2022) y ODDATARA (web-documental, 2020). Actualmente dirige el corto 2D Contacto (premio del Ministerio de Cultura del Perú 2021 para proyectos de cortometraje de animación) y ODDAFIP (documental web financiado por el Proyecto Mindchangers de la Comisión Europea).
Filmmaker dedicated to fiction and documentary. He has directed projects that have been awarded by the European Commission and by the Ministry of Culture of Peru. After having studied in Peru, France, Brazil and Hong Kong, he lives between France and Peru directing animation and documentary projects. His most recent projects are El Motor y la melodía (2DShort, 2022) and ODDATARA (web-documentary, 2020). He is currently directing the 2D shortfilm Contacto (prize from the Ministry of Culture of Peru 2021 for animated short film projects) and ODDAFIP (web documentary funded by the Mindchangers Project of the European Commission.
