Sinopsis

Existe una guerra contra los inmigrantes. Se ha construido un enorme aparato de vigilancia militarización para capturar, encarcelar y deportar a millones de personas. Pero a la sombra de este complejo fronterizo-industrial, los inmigrantes están construyendo un movimiento de derechos que vislumbra un futuro arraigado en la conexión humana y la santidad de la vida.   

There is a war on immigrants. A massive surveillance, militarized and carceral apparatus has been built to capture, imprison and deport millions. But in the shadow of this border-industrial- complex, immigrants are building a rights movement envisioning a future rooted in human connection and the sanctity of life.

Es productora ejecutiva de “Witness to War” ganadora de un Oscar; productora de “Loss of Innocence”, ganadora de un Emmy; directora de “When the Mountains Tremble”, ganadora del Premio Especial del Jurado de Sundance; recibió una beca Guggenheim por su obra y el Premio del Club de Prensa de Ultramar por “State of Fear”. Yates es miembro de la Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas y del Consejo Asesor del Festival de Cine de Woodstock. 

She was born in Pennsylvania, USA. She is the co-founder of Skylight Pictures, a nonprofit media organization. She is the executive producer of the Oscar-winning “Witness to War”; producer of the Emmy-winning “Loss of Innocence”; director of the Sundance Special Jury Prize winner “When the Mountains Tremble”; she received a Guggenheim fellowship for her work and the Overseas Press Club Award for “State of Fear.” Yates is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Advisory Board of the Woodstock Film Festival.
