Sinopsis

Cleo, una cantante joven y guapa, espera los resultados de un análisis médico. Pasando de la superstición al miedo, de la calle de Rivoli al Café du Dome, de la coquetería a la angustia, de su casa al parque Montsouris, Cleo vive 90 minutos únicos. Su amante, su músico, una amiga y luego un soldado le abren los ojos al mundo. 

Cleo, a young and pretty singer, waits for the results of medical tests. From superstition to fear, from the Rue de Rivoli to the Café du Dôme, from coquetry to anxiety, from her apartment to Parc Montsouris, Cleo lives through ninety peculiar minutes. Her lover, a musician accompanist, a female friend, and then a soldier open up her eyes to the world.  

Nacida en Bruselas en 1928, ha desarrollado toda su obra en Francia. Se anticipa cinco años al nacimiento “oficial” de la Nouvelle Vague con su primer largometraje, “La Pointe Courte” (1954), una película de ficción con elementos documentales. “Cléo de 5 à 7” (1961), “Una canta, otra no” (L’une chante, l’autre pas, 1976), “Sin techo ni ley” (Sans toit ni loi, 1985) o “Los espigadores y la espigadora” (Les Glaneurs et la glaneuse, 2000) son algunos de sus filmes. Entre los galardones concedidos a su carrera, destacan el Leopardo de Honor del Festival de Locarno (2014) y la Palma de Oro de Honor del Festival de Cannes (2015), premio Donostia del Festival de san Sebastián (2017), la Academia de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas de Hollywood le entregó un Oscar honorífico por el conjunto de su Carrera (2018). 

Born in Brussels in 1928, she has developed her entire body of work in France. She anticipated the «official» birth of the Nouvelle Vague by five years with her first feature film, «La Pointe Courte» (1954), a fiction film with documentary elements. «Cléo from 5 to 7» (1961), «One Sings, the Other Doesn’t» (L’une chante, l’autre pas, 1976), «Vagabond» (Sans toit ni loi, 1985), and «The Gleaners and I» (Les Glaneurs et la glaneuse, 2000) are some of her films. Among the awards granted to her career, the Honorary Leopard at the Locarno Festival (2014) and the Honorary Palme d’Or at the Cannes Festival (2015) stand out. She also received the Donostia Award at the San Sebastián Festival (2017), and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presented her with an honorary Oscar for her career (2018).
