Sinopsis

Nacho (18) huye de la violencia de su casa en Buenos Aires y busca un hogar al amparo de su padre, un estanciero a quien apenas conoce. La estancia viene sufriendo una amenaza: cada cierto tiempo una vaca aparece muerta, sin explicación. Para tratar de obtener la aprobación de su padre, Nacho buscará esclarecer estas muertes. Pero a medida que indague, irá descubriendo una gruesa capa de desconfianza y tensión de clase, que le harán preguntarse qué significa ser patrón.

Nacho (18) runs away from the violence of his home in Buenos Aires and looks for refuge alongside his estranged father, the boss of a cow-breeding ranch. In hopes of getting close to him, Nacho will side with his father in trying to untangle a threat that’s been hovering over the ranch: the unexplained death of some of the cows. But as he delves into the mystery, he will uncover a thick layer of mistrust and social class tension that will make him ponder what it means to be boss.

Nació en EEUU aunque vivió toda su vida en Argentina. Se graduó como Economista Magna Cum Laude en la Universidad de Buenos Aires y, luego, estudió cine en la Universidad del Cine, donde ahora es profesor. Su cortometraje “Asesinato en Junín” (2012) ganó el premio a Mejor Ficción en Tampere Film Festival y el Premio Especial del Jurado en Poitiers Film Festival. Su primer largometraje “Pantanal” (2014) fue programado en festivales como Warsaw IFF, Stockholm IFF, Mar del Plata IFF, entre otros. Fue becario de la Fundación Carolina y del TIFF Filmmaker Lab.

He was born in 1981 in the U.S. but lived his whole life in Argentina. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Buenos Aires with a degree in Economics and later went on to study Film Direction at the Universidad del Cine where he now teaches.He wrote and directed the short film “Asesinato en Junín” (2012) which won the Best Fiction prize at Tampere Film Festival in Finland and the Prix Spécial du Jury at Poitiers Film Festival in France.His first feature film “Pantanal” (2014), was premiered at the Warsaw International Film Festival and participated in the Stockholm Film Festival and Mar del Plata Film Festival among others.He is a TIFF Filmmaker Lab and Carolina Foundation Alumni.
