Emilia es una joven viuda, que junto a su pequeña hija Irina, viaja por el río rumbo a Islandia en los años 50. Debido al bajo caudal, se quedan varadas en Santos, un pequeño poblado de la Amazonía peruana. El tiempo que permanecen allí es suficiente para que cambie el rumbo de sus vidas. Emilia se convierte en la primera maestra del pueblo. 50 años después, su legado permanece.
Emilia, a young widow, is traveling by river to Islandia with her young daughter, Irina, in the 1950s. Because the river is low, they are stranded in Santos, a small town in the Peruvian Amazon. The time they spend there is enough to change the course of their lives. Emilia is the first teacher the town has had. Fifty years later, her legacy remains.

Cineasta Pucallpina. Productora, guionista, directora, gestora cultural y docente universitaria de cine y teatro. “Islandia” es su ópera prima, ganó premio al proyecto de largometraje de ficción exclusivo para regiones del Ministerio de Cultura-DAFO 2017. En abril pasado, se estrenó mundialmente en el 14e Festival de Cinéma Péruvien de Paris 2023. En su etapa de desarrollo, el proyecto fue seleccionado a diplomados, laboratorios, talleres, encuentros y foros de co-producción en festivales internacionales como Huelva, Manaus y Guadalajara. El 2022, estrenó su documental “No se van” en el Festival de Cine de Trujillo. Su obra “Carta desde Samito” ganó el premio de Mejor Cortometraje Documental en el 3° Festival Nacional de Cine de Huánuco 2016 y tuvo su estreno internacional en el 10° Festival de Cinéma Péruvien de Paris 2018. Es directora general en la empresa productora LA CHURUNGA FILMS EIRL, socia de EGEDA Perú y socia fundadora de NUNA, Asociación de Directoras y Guionistas del Cine y el Audiovisual del Perú.
Filmmaker from Pucallpa. Producer, screenwriter, director, cultural manager and university professor of cinema and theater. “Iceland” is her debut feature, it won the award for the exclusive fiction feature film project for regions from the Ministry of Culture-DAFO 2017. Last April, it premiered worldwide at the 14th Festival de Cinéma Péruvien de Paris 2023.
