Errante es una meditación visual sobre el retorno al origen a partir del registro de un viaje en soledad de un año y medio alrededor del Círculo Polar Ártico. La transformación del paisaje a través de las cuatro estaciones (primavera, verano, otoño, invierno, primavera otra vez) y la fusión interna con aquello que se mira para permitir la propia transformación. Es la conquista del hogar en el sentido de poder llegar al lugar que nos pertenece. La muerte como imagen de la transformación, el descenso al lugar de los muertos, el final del ciclo y la vuelta a la vida otra vez.
Wanderer is a visual meditation on the return to the origin through the register of a solitary journey around the Arctic Circle. The transformation of the landscape through the four seasons (Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring again) and the internal connection with that which you see to allow for your own transformation. It’s the conquest of home, in the sense of striving to get to the place you belong to.
Buenos Aires, 1955. Comenzó estudios de cine y de fotografía en 1979 en la Escuela de Cine y Técnicas Audiovisuales de Avellaneda. Entre 1982 y 1995 trabajó como fotoperiodista para La Voz, Página12 y la Agencia Diarios y Noticias. Se ha dedicado intensamente a la enseñanza coordinando talleres y clínicas, en 2010 fue invitada a impartir uno de los campus PhotoEspaña Grandes Maestros. Fue la primera fotógrafa argentina en obtener al Beca Guggenheim, la beca Hasselblad y el Premio Mother Jones. También fue nombrada Personalidad Destacada de la Cultura por la Legislatura de Buenos Aires, obtuvo la Medalla del Bicentenario, el Gran Premio Adquisición Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales y el Premio a la Trayectoria, otorgado por la Academia Nacional de Artes Visuales, entre otras distinciones.
Su trabajo se ha exhibido en todo el mundo e integra las colecciones del Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes y Museo de Arte Moderno Buenos Aires, Argentina; Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Chateau d’eau Toulouse, Centre Regional de la photographie du Nord Pas-de-Calais. Douchy- les-Mines, Casa Europea de la Fotografía, Francia; Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, USA; Museo de Bellas Artes Caracas, Venezuela; Hasselblad Center Gotebörg, Suecia; Fundación Comunidad Autónoma Castilla/La Mancha, España.

Buenos Aires, 1955. She began studying film and photography in 1979 at the Escuela de Cine y Técnicas Audiovisuales de Avellaneda. Between 1982 and 1995 she worked as a photojournalist for La Voz, Página12 and Agencia Diarios y Noticias. She has dedicated herself intensely to teaching, coordinating workshops and clinics, and in 2010 she was invited to teach at one of the PhotoEspaña Grandes Maestros campuses. She was the first Argentine photographer to obtain the Guggenheim Fellowship, the Hasselblad Fellowship and the Mother Jones Award. She was also named Outstanding Personality of Culture by the Legislature of Buenos Aires, was awarded the Bicentennial Medal, the Grand Acquisition Prize at the National Visual Arts Salon and the Lifetime Achievement Award, granted by the National Academy of Visual Arts, among other distinctions.
Her work has been exhibited worldwide and is part of the collections of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes and Museo de Arte Moderno Buenos Aires, Argentina; Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Chateau d’eau Toulouse, Centre Regional de la photographie du Nord Pas-de-Calais.
